A wonderful view of three distinct places in Asia from rural Thailand, to cross cultural Singapore and cosmopolitan Hong Kong.  This tour is ideal for those who want to explore a wide range of Asian destinations and cultures.

 

Itinerary

 

Thu., May 3 - Depart the US:  Afternoon departure on Singapore Airlines from San Francisco.  Sat., May 5 – Morning arrival Bangkok.

 

Sun., - Wed., May 6 – 9 – Bangkok:  Attend the Rotary International Convention.  No Howard Tours’ events are scheduled in deference to the Convention activities.

 

Thu., May 10 - Bangkok/Chiang Rai:  Morning flight to Chiang Rai.  Upon arrival, we will have  lunch before we begin our afternoon city sightseeing that includes the monument of King Mengrai, Ku Phra Chao Mengrai, Wat Phrasing, handicraft center, etc.  Our accommodations are at the Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort, with daily breakfasts included.  Dinner will be provided as a tour service.

 

Fri., May 11 - Chiang Rai/Golden Triangle:  Today enjoy an all day sightseeing program to the Golden Triangle, including visits to Akha and Yaol hill tribes the ruins at Chiang Saen, and the Mae Sai Market.  Lunch will be provided as a tour service.  This evening is free for individual enjoyment.

Sat., May 12 - Chiang Rai/Chiang Mai:  Depart by motorcoach for all day sightseeing en route to Chiang Rai.  During our travels, we will visit Wat Rong Khun, known as the “White Temple.”  Lunch will be provided en route.  Upon arrival, we check into our accommodations at the Le Meridien Chiang Mai Hotel, with daily breakfasts included.  Dinner will be provided as a tour service.

 

Sun., May 13 - Chiang Mai:  This morning, we visit the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and a visit to a Meo hill tribe village and its people.  Lunch will be provided as a tour service before we return to the hotel for a free afternoon and evening.  Today would be an ideal time to explore Chiang Mai, perhaps visit the night market or just relax at the hotel.

 

Mon., May 14 – Chiang Mai:  Today we visit to a working elephant camp in Mae Sa, followed by a visit to a magnificent orchid farm.  We then enjoy lunch, before we visit the handicraft village of Stankhampaeng. Tonight is a special Khan Toke dinner.

  

Tue., May 15 - Chiang Mai/Singapore:  Morning flight to Bangkok, where we connect with our flight to Singapore.  Our accommodations are at the deluxe Marina Mandarin Hotel, including daily breakfasts.  The evening is free for your individual enjoyment of this exciting city.  We suggest you might eat at one of the many restaurants on Clark Quay.

 

Wed. May 16 - Singapore:  This morning, our city sightseeing will include a drive through the Civic District before stopping at Merlion Park.  We continue to Mt. Farber for a view of the city, before our visit to the National Orchid garden.  Free afternoon and evening so that you have time to shop, continue to explore the city and enjoy the incredible range of cuisines that are available.

 

Thu., May 17 - Singapore:  This morning, we drive to the Sultan state of Johore, in Malaysia.  Our trip will include visits to the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, the handicraft market and Kampong.  We return to Singapore for a free afternoon and evening.

 

Fri., May 18 - Singapore/Hong Kong:  This morning, we fly to the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong, where out accommodations will be at the new Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui, including daily breakfasts.

 

Sat., May 19 - Hong Kong:  This morning, we depart for a half day sightseeing tour of Hong Kong Island, including the Wanchai and Central districts, a ride on the tram to Victoria Peak, and visits to Repulse Bay and Stanley Market before returning to the hotel.  This afternoon and evening are free so that you have time to shop, get fitted for tailored clothing, or enjoy fine dining.

 

Sun., May 20 – Hong Kong:  Today is free for your individual enjoyment and pursuits. 

 

Mon., May 21 – Hong Kong/Depart for Home:  Evening flight to return to San Francisco.  Arrive the same day you leave Hong Kong.
