Attend the Rotary International Convention. No Howard Tours’ events are
scheduled in deference to the Convention activities.
Thu., May 10 - Depart Bangkok for Hong Kong:
This
morning, we fly to the cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong, where out
accommodations will be at the new
Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui,
including daily breakfasts.
Fri., May 11 - Hong Kong:
This morning, we depart for a half day sightseeing tour of Hong Kong
Island, including the Wanchai and Central districts, a ride on the tram to
Victoria Peak, and visits to Repulse Bay and Stanley Market before
returning to the hotel. This afternoon and evening are free so that you
have time to shop, get fitted for tailored clothing, or enjoy fine dining.
Sat.,
May 12 – Hong Kong/Guilin:
This
morning is free for your individual enjoyment. This evening, we will fly
to beautiful Guilin, famous for the Li River and the picturesque mountain
scenes. Our accommodations are at the deluxe
Shangri-La Hotel Guilin,
including daily breakfasts.
Sun., May 13 – Guilin:
Today,
will be a day to remember as we will travel down the Li River to Yangshuo,
where we will see some of the most extraordinary landscapes of mountains
that are shrouded in mist. Lunch is served on the boat. This evening is
free for independent pursuits, including a visit to the night market.
Mon., May 14 –Guilin/Xian:
This
morning, we visit the spectacular Reed Flute Cave,
which is a 240 meter long cave of stalactites, illuminated by colored
lighting. Afterwards, we continue to Fubo Park on the edge of the Li
River before we stop for lunch. The afternoon will be free for shopping
before we gather for dinner. After dinner we fly to the ancient city of
Xi’an. Accommodations at the
Golden Flower Hotel Xi’an,
which includes daily breakfasts.
Tue., May 15 - Xian:
All day
sightseeing to the Hua Qing Hot Springs and the Terra Cotta Warrior
Museum. Lunch is provided. This evening, we will enjoy dinner and
special Tang Dynasty cultural show.
Wed. May 16 - Xian/Beijing:
This
morning, en route to the airport, we will visit the Xi’an city wall that
dates back to the 6th
century. We then board a midday flight to Beijing. Accommodations at the
Renaissance Beijing Capital
Hotel,
which includes daily breakfasts.
Thu.,
May 17 Beijing:
All day
sightseeing to include Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City. Lunch is
provided. This afternoon, we explore Beijing’s old Hutong area by rickshaw
and visit a private home to get a glimpse of Beijing’s old family houses.
We finish our day by enjoying a traditional Peking Duck Dinner.
Fri., May 18 – Beijing:
Today will be all day sightseeing for a memorable visit to the Great Wall
of China and the Ming Tombs. Lunch is provided. This evening is free to
enjoy some of Beijing’s fine restaurants.
Sat., May 19 Beijing:
This
morning, we will visit the magnificent Summer Palace – home of the Chinese
Emperors before having lunch, included as a tour service. This afternoon
we will visit the Temple of Heaven before affording you free time for last
minute shopping. This evening is free for last minute enjoyment.
Sun., May 20 – Beijing/Depart for Home:
We depart
on a morning flight back to Hong Kong before taking our homeward flight on
Cathay Pacific arriving the same day you left Beijing.
