Wed., May 24 - Depart the U.S.

Thu., May 25 – Cross International Dateline

Fri., May 26 – Arrive Melbourne:  No Howard Tours’ events or services are scheduled.
 
Sat.-Wed., May 27 – May 31 - Melbourne:  Attend the Rotary International Convention.  No Howard Tours’ events or services are scheduled in deference to the Rotary Convention activities.

Thu., - June 1: -  Melbourne/Adelaide:  Morning flight to Adelaide, a city of historic buildings, wide streets and a huge variety of cafes and restaurants.  Upon arrival lunch is provided as a tour service before arriving at our accommodations at the Majestic Roof Garden hotel including daily breakfast.  Afternoon and evening are free for personal enjoyment and individual exploration of this charming city.
 
Fri., June 2 - Adelaide:  Today we visit the beachside town of Glenelg and Hahndorf, the oldest surviving Germanic settlement in Australia, and a true artisan village.  For lunch, we will dine at the charming Barker Hotel in the Adelaide Hills.  Afterward, we return to Adelaide.  Your evening is free to explore Adelaide's vibrant restaurant scene.
 
Sat., June 3 – Adelaide:  Today, is one for your culinary and vinous senses as we travel to the MacLaren Vale, one of Australia's most highly rated wine regions.  Our journey will include private tastings at the renowned d'Arenberg Winery and Wirra Wirra Vineyards.  Lunch is provided as a tour service before returning to Adelaide for a free evening and more restaurant explorations! 

Sun., June 4 – Adelaide/Alice Springs:   Fly to the township of Alice Springs.  Australia's most famous outback town known for it's intense desert landscape.  The towns' isolation has led to the creation of an unrivalled community identity.  Accommodations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs including breakfast.

Mon., June 5 -  Alice Springs/Uluru (Ayers Rock):  Explore the many interesting highlights of Alice Springs, including the Telegraph Station, School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctors Service, before departing for Ayers Rock with a stop for lunch en route.  Upon arrival at Uluru (Ayers Rock) we view one of the world's most recognizable natural icons.  Accommodations at the Desert Gardens Hotel including breakfast.

Tue., June 6 -  Uluru:   We depart the hotel early to see a majestic sunrise on Uluru.  Afterwards, we enjoy breakfast and a tour around the base of this icon including Aboriginal rock paintings and history before returning to the hotel.  This afternoon, we travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the Walpa Gorge.  We return to our hotel to prepare for a Sounds of Silence dinner  event.  A sand dune path takes you to an uninterrupted, 360 degree view of the vast landscape.  In front of you, the fabled Uluru; behind you the dome of Kata Tjuta and a spectacular sunset.  As the sun sets, enjoy a bush tucker inspired buffet before your turning our attention to the night sky and some of the world's best stargazing.

Wed., June 7 – Uluru/Cairns:  Today we fly onward to Trinity Bay and the city of Cairns.  Sitting offshore and shaping the city's character is the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.  Our accommodations are at the Pacific Hotel Cairns and include daily breakfasts.

Thu., June 8 - Cairns:  Bring your swimwear, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen as today we take an all day trip out to one of the world's most popular diving sites.  This full day tour includes an all-weather marine platform, which caters to all activity levels.  Snorkel in the sheltered coral lagoon, go scuba diving (no experience necessary/own expense) or enjoy the reef from the semi- submersible reef viewer, glass bottom boat and underwater observatory.  Lunch is included as a tour service.  Return to Cairns for a free evening to enjoy the local restaurants.

Fri., June 9 - Cairns:  Today we visit another World Heritage listed treasure, the ancient tropical rainforests of the Daintree National Park.  A train takes us on a leisurely trip winding through dense tropical forests, past majestic waterfalls and over great ravines.   Once we arrive at Rainforestation, we board an Amphibious Army Duck venturing through the rainforest to learn about its ecosystem.  Lunch is included as a tour service before we visit the Pamagirri Aboriginal Cultural Center to learn to throw a boomerang or play the didgeridoo.  After our visit, we explore the village of Kuranda before heading back down the mountain via the world's largest gondola cableway to enjoy sights that were once reserved strictly for the birds!  Transfer back to Cairns for the evening.
 
Sat., June 10 - Cairns/Sydney:  Fly to Sydney,  home of the famous Harbor Bridge, Opera House and a vibrant night life.  Accommodations at the ParkRoyal Darling Harbor hotel,  including daily breakfast.

Sun., June 11 - Sydney:  Today we visit the Rocks - Sydney's birthplace, tour the iconic Sydney Opera House, and see the Conservatorium, and Mrs Macquaries' Chair, etc., before enjoying a lunch cruise with million dollar Sydney harbor views.  Balance of the day and evening free for your enjoyment. 

Mon., June 12 - Sydney: 
Travel outside Sydney to the Blue Mountains, named because of the blue haze caused by light striking dust, droplets of moisture and eucalyptus oil in the atmosphere.  See the world famous rock formation "The Three Sisters" and enjoy views of the Great Dividing Range which runs from North Queensland to Victoria.  We will stop to visit Featherdale Wildlife Park.  Featherdale provides a home to over 1,700 Australian native animals including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, as well as Dingos, wombats, and Tasmanian devils.  Lunch is included as a tour service.  Return to Sydney for a free, final evening in this exciting city.

Tue., June 13 - Sydney/Depart for Home
