Australia is known as a food and wine country, with some of the world’s best wines, flavors and cuisines. In addition to exploring three of eastern Australia’s favorite cities, you will experience private wine tastings and dining experiences you could not find on your own. Fri., May 19 - Sydney: Early morning arrival. We begin our day by enjoying a tour to Sydney's famous Bondi Beach area including a beachside lunch before arriving at our accommodations at the Grace Hotel Sydney, including daily breakfasts. This evening is free for rest or exploration.
Sat., May 20 - Sydney: Our day begins with a tour of the famous Sydney Opera House before continuing to Barangaroo and The Rocks, Sydney’s newest and oldest districts. As we walk through these districts, we experience a “Taste of Sydney” food tour where we visit a number of dining establishments to enjoy some of Australia’s favorite dishes, stunning Harbor views, and the city’s modern architecture and colonial history. The evening free to dine at some of Sydney’s wonderful restaurants.
Sun., May 21 – Sydney: Today’s all-day adventure takes us to the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park and the Hawkesbury River. We explore the Aboriginal cultural heritage and art of the area along with some of Sydney's most impressive views across the Hawkesbury River. This afternoon, we visit the Broken Bay Oyster Farm to enjoy oysters directly from the river before we feast on a seafood lunch. This evening is free for one more night on the town.
Mon., May 22 - Sydney/Adelaide: From Sydney we fly to Adelaide, in the heart of Australia's Wine country. Upon our arrival, we travel to the beachside town of Glenelg before continuing to Hahndorf, the oldest surviving Germanic settlement in Australia and a true artisan village. For lunch, we will dine in the Adelaide Hills at the Lane Vineyard. Afterward, we return to Adelaide and to our accommodations at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel, including daily breakfasts. Evening free to enjoy Adelaide’s restaurants.
Tue., May 23 – Adelaide: Today is one for your culinary and vinous senses as we travel to the MacLaren Vale, one of Australia's most highly rated wine regions. Our journey will include private tastings at the renowned d'Arenberg Winery and Wirra Wirra Vineyards, followed by a wonderful lunch at Maxwell Winery. After a day of fine wine and food, we make our way back to Adelaide and our hotel. This evening is free for individual enjoyment.
Wed., May 24 - Adelaide/Kangaroo Island: This morning we embark on the extraordinary, by flying to Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. We spend the day visiting the Island's authentic food and drink and untamed landscapes that include, Kangaroo Island Olives, Clifford's Honey Farm and The Islander Estate Vineyards before arriving at our accommodations at the Kangaroo Island Seafront, including breakfast.
Thu., May 25 - Kangaroo Island/Melbourne: The next leg of our journey continues with our flight to Melbourne. Upon our arrival we transfer our group to the center of Melbourne. Accommodations in Melbourne are not included in our tour price. Your accommodations will be at the same hotel at which you are staying during the convention. You can either secure these accommodations through Howard Tours, or the convention website. Please see paragraph below.
Fri., May 26 - Melbourne: This morning, we depart from a convenient central location in the heart of Melbourne to explore the beauty of the Mornington Peninsula and to understand why Melbourne is considered the “foodie” capital of Australia. En route, we visit the award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary wildlife park to visit kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and many other Australian animals. Next, we experience a stunning five-course gourmet experience, with paired wines at the Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove. After lunch we complete our day with a celebration of art and wine at Pt Leo Estate, known for their Sculpture Park and 16-acre out gallery houses. The day, and our tour, ends with our return to Melbourne.
