Rotarian Purpose
By joining this program, you will work with the local Rotarians to understand how important Rotary is to their communities. You will also have the opportunity to select and support Rotary Foundation projects during the Fair, engage in field work in the local communities, create strong friendships with the East African Rotarians, and participate in hands-on humanitarian and health related field work.

Mon., Apr. 29 - Depart North America
Tue., Apr. 30 - Arrival in Mombasa, Kenya: First-class accommodations at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, which includes daily breakfasts and internet. This morning is free, as our members will be arriving throughout the night and early morning. This afternoon we will begin our tour of Mombasa Town, the second largest city in Kenya and an island. The city has a diverse and intriguing population, and we will visit some interesting historical and cultural places including, Fort Jesus, the old town, Baobab forest, and Akamba Woodcraft.
Wed., May 1 - Mombasa: Morning tour of local projects of the Rotary clubs of Mombasa. We will be able to see the community needs and Rotary’s response to those needs. We enjoy lunch with the local Rotarians before returning to our hotel. Later this afternoon, we join all Projects Fair attendees in a “Koroga,” which is a uniquely Kenyan style of dining outdoors.
Thu., May 2 - East African Projects Fair: We attend the Projects Fair and engage with Rotarians from throughout east African nations. Events include the Opening Ceremony and Rotary Foundation seminars where we learn how to support and engage club projects. Tonight, we will participate a cultural night celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Mombasa
Fri., May 3 - East Africa Projects Fair: We visit the Fair booths to learn about the projects of the East African clubs and discover how to join them in addressing their humanitarians needs. Lunch is included. Tonight, we enjoy a special closing dinner and entertainment event.
Sat., May 4 - Community Service/Humanitarian Day: Today, we work side-by-side with local Rotarians in their community service projects, at schools, hospitals and other vital community services. Lunch provided by local Rotarians. Special dinner event with the local Rotarians.
Sun., May 5 - Tsavo East National Park – Wildlife Safari: Today is an all day adventure to Tsavo East National Park to see the beauty and splendor of African wildlife in its native habitat. Upon our arrival, and in small vehicles with private guides, we enjoy a morning game drive. Lunch is provided as a tour service. After lunch, we continue on another game drive before we return to Mombasa.
Mon., May 6 - Mombasa: Depart for Home: Flight from Mombasa back to North America.
