Sat., May 11- Depart from home.
Sun., May 12 – Cross the International Dateline.
Mon., May 13 – Arrive in Bangkok, Thailand. Afternoon arrival in Bangkok on Singapore Airlines. After entry procedures, we will provide a motorcoach transfer provided to our accommodations at the Shangri-La Bangkok, which includes daily breakfasts. This afternoon and evening are free for rest from a long flight.
Tue., May 14 – Bangkok: This morning, we begin our exploration of this exciting city. Sightseeing includes the Royal Palace, Wat Traimit and Wat Pho, the Grand Palace complex, Emerald Buddha Temple, etc. This afternoon is free for individual exploration and shopping. Our hotel is located near the MRT (Metropolitan Rapid Transit) station, which gives you quick access to all parts of Bangkok. This evening, we take boats across the Chao Phraya river for a dinner show at the fabled Sala Rim Naam restaurant.
Wed., May 15 – Bangkok: This morning, our exploration takes us to the Railway Market to witness the train running through the heart of the market while vendors move their goods away from the tracks. From there we travel through the beautiful countryside to the Damnern Saduak Floating Market. This afternoon is free for individual exploration and enjoyment. This evening, we will enjoy a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River, the “River of Kings.”
Thu., May 16 – Bangkok/Chiang Rai: This morning, we fly to Chiang Rai. Upon our arrival we will enjoy lunch before we arrive at our accommodations at The Riverie by Katathani, which include daily breakfasts. Balance of the afternoon is free for your personal enjoyment.
Fri., May 17 - Chiang Rai (Golden Triangle): Today is a special, all-day, trip through the Golden Triangle of Thailand, including visits to Akha and Yao hill tribes, the ruins at Chiang Saen, Mae Sai Market, etc. Lunch will be provided as a tour service. This evening is free for rest and individual enjoyment.
Sat., May 18 – Chiang Rai / Chiang Mai: We depart by motorcoach for all-day sightseeing en route to Chiang Mai. During our travels, we will visit Wat Rong Khun, known as the “White Temple” and Wat Rong SeuaTen the “Blue Temple.” Lunch will be provided en route. Afternoon arrival at Le Meridien Chiang Mai, which includes daily breakfasts. This evening is free.
Sun., May 19 - Chiang Mai: Today’s all-day exploration will include the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary and rescue center. Lunch is provided before continuing onto a magnificent orchid and butterfly farm. Tonight, we will enjoy a special Khan Toke dinner, specific to the people of the northern region.
Mon., May 20 – Chiang Mai: Today’s all-day adventure takes us to the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and the Meo hill tribe village and people. Lunch is provided before we visit the handicraft village of Stankhampaeng before returning to the hotel for a free evening.
Tue., May 21 - Chiang Mai/ Phuket: This morning is free before we depart on an afternoon flight to Phuket. Upon our arrival in Phuket, we are transferred to our accommodations at the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, which includes daily breakfasts.
Wed., May 22 - Phuket: Our morning sightseeing will take us to Phuket Town, to see the “Big Buddha,” which features a remarkable view of Chalong Bay, Promthep Cape, etc., before returning to the hotel for a free afternoon to enjoy the resort.
Thu., May 23 – Phuket/Enjoy the Resort: Free day for relaxation and personal enjoyment of the resort. Dinner is included with a Siam Niramit Cultural Show.
Fri., May 24 – Phuket/Singapore: Our visit to Thailand ends as we provide a transfer provided to the Phuket airport for our Singapore Airlines group flight to Singapore. Registration, hotel accommodations and transfers to the convention hotels are not included in the tour price.
Sat., May 25 – Wed., May 29 - Singapore: Attend the Rotary International Convention. No Howard Tours’ events are scheduled in deference to the Rotary Convention activities.
Thu., May 30 – Depart for home.
